Dispatcher (Maternity leave replacement One-year contract)

Cotecna is now seeking a dedicated and proactive Dispatcher to join our team in the Burnaby, BC office as a maternity leave replacement for a part-time one-year contract.

We specialize in on-site supervision, sampling, and quality control for shipments moving through the Port of Vancouver.

What you’ll do

• The dispatcher is responsible for creating and communicating the schedule for shift coverage.
• The dispatcher will communicate with clients to determine their staffing needs.
• The dispatcher will be responsible for keeping track of employee’s work availabilities.
• The dispatcher will be required to accurately maintain a record of scheduled shifts and the status of employee shift confirmations.
• The dispatcher will be responsible for inputting and communicating the schedule through various mediums (i.e., email, text messaging, scheduling applications/software).
• The dispatcher will be required to communicate any complications or concerns to the Operations Coordinator or Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent in Years Experience
• Strong written and communication skills and organizational skills are required
• Ability to perform various administrative duties.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to promote a compassionate, caring, customer service-oriented culture by operating in a professional and collaborative fashion.
