JBS. is seeking a talented Hydraulics Design Engineer/Technologist to join our Design Engineering Department.

We are in search of a motivated professional with a background in Hydraulic system design and/or agriculture equipment. As a key member of the Hydraulics Design Team, you will contribute to new product development across JBS’s diverse product lines, from initial concept to prototyping and final production. Additionally, you will offer essential support for existing products.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate to support a move to Mission, BC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop hydraulic systems and components, including sheet metal structures for protection and support.
• Generate 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor; issue and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Coordinate prototype builds, source components, and collaborate with R&D and Test Engineering on testing and validation.
• Support cross-functional teams (Production, Purchasing, Service, Quality) in resolving design and manufacturing challenges.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis of design alternatives and implement improvements based on prototype feedback.
• Engage in hands-on assembly/testing and make occasional site visits to farms and field testing locations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an MET Diploma, with active membership in a recognized professional engineering/technologist association.
• A minimum of 3 years in design, with a preference for experience in hydraulics and/or mobile equipment.
• Familiarity with ASABE, ISO, and SAE standards.
• Proficient CAD skills for creating 3D models and 2D drawings, preferably using Autodesk Inventor 2023.
• Competence with PDM systems, such as Autodesk Vault.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Mechanical acumen and practical hands-on skills are highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to articulate and comprehend complex technical concepts.
• The capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic work environment with strict deadlines.
• Effective information gathering and organizational abilities.
• An innovative mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• A robust work ethic.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent visits to areas where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Occasional travel to testing locations, working in outdoor environments
