Job Description

ABOUT OPUS VANCOUVER

Set in the heart of Vancouver’s cosmopolitan Yaletown neighbourhood - OPUS Vancouver is an independently-owned boutique lifestyle hotel offering unparalleled experiences that are always personalized for each stay. Choose from 96 spacious rooms and suites, with vibrant colour palettes and sophisticated amenities, and revel in on-site dining, with house-made pizza, pasta and casual Italian at Capo and delectable cocktails at The Spritz.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on General Manager to lead OPUS Vancouver into its next chapter. As the face of the property and the heart of its operations, you will be responsible for driving performance across all departments, ensuring financial success, and delivering a personalized guest experience that makes every guest feel at home in Yaletown. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of Vancouver’s most beloved boutique hotels and shape its ongoing legacy in the hospitality industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership to all departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, guest-centric culture rooted in creativity, accountability, and excellence.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring the highest level of service, cleanliness, and brand consistency.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budget management to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership, industry partners, and the Yaletown community.
  • Act as brand ambassador, ensuring OPUS remains top-of-mind in local and international markets.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent through thoughtful leadership and a people-first approach.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, health & safety, and company standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

The ideal candidate brings a passion for delivering a personalized level of service, experience in both front and back of house hotel operations and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a dynamic, guest-focused environment. You possess strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management, alongside a sharp eye for identifying revenue opportunities and driving profitability. You’re a confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and build trust across all levels of the organization. A hands-on leader with a passion for design-forward, experience-driven hospitality, you are comfortable making data-informed decisions while remaining agile and intuitive. Your working knowledge of hospitality systems (PMS, POS, CRM, channel management) and your commitment to service excellence set you apart. Most importantly, you bring energy, creativity, and a genuine love for the hospitality industry, the city, and your team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in boutique or luxury hotel environments.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing P&L.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of guest experience standards and the independent hotel landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of Vancouver’s hospitality market an asset.
  • A natural storyteller and host, with a passion for design, culture, and community.
  • Experience in managing food and beverage operations and working with ownership stakeholders preferred.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A leadership role at one of Canada’s most iconic boutique hotels.
  • Competitive compensation starting from $140,000 per year and a performance-based bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • A dynamic, inclusive workplace with a supportive and engaged ownership group.
  • The opportunity to shape a brand that dares to be different.

TO APPLY

Please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your leadership philosophy and what makes you the perfect fit for OPUS Vancouver to Nicholas Gandossi, Director of Hospitality at Onni Group - ngandossi@onni.com.
