Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. This position requires a thorough knowledge of electrical systems and components, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality work.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in commercial and industrial settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Plan layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other trades as needed to complete projects efficiently.
• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions or defects in equipment, components, or systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with Apex Refrigeration policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute installation or repair projects.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Use CRM software to document repair information, equipment information, complete safety documentation, and log time for payroll.
• Receive and execute instructions from job leads and supervisors.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, addressing concerns, and explaining technical information in a clear manner.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Drive and maintain a service vehicle.

Qualification Requirements:

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certification

Position Requirements:

• Must be legally eligible to be employed in Canada
• Must be located in the Calgary region at time of hire
• Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with acceptable driving history
• Clean Criminal Record Check at time of hire
• Hold safety certifications (First Aid, TDG, Fall Protection, etc.) or willing to obtain
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position, including but not limited to: lifting objects, climbing ladders, working in restricted spaces, and working at heights
• Ability to drive a work vehicle legally and safely
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication ability in English, verbal and written
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to service calls after hours, on weekends, and holidays. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master Electrician Certificate
• Previous experience with Control Systems/Instrumentation

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation is negotiable based on relevant experience and qualifications.
• Employees are entitled to a benefits package after successful completion of their probationary period
