Job Description

Customer Service

To provide exceptional, friendly, courteous and professional guest service at all times.

To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, informing supervisor when required, to ensure follow through and the problems are resolved satisfactorily.

Balances cash and credit card charges and remittance of cash to Front Office Safe

Operational

- Assists with the smooth and efficient service of the bar operation ensuring that Hyatt standards are met at all times

- To be familiar with all beverage (and food) items on the outlet menu.

- Constantly strive to satisfy all guests that he/she may come into contact with

- To prepare the outlet for operation, including mise-en-place, setting and resetting tables, light cleaning and other assigned tasks.

- Present beverage list, take beverage orders from guests, answer questions and upselling wherever possible.

- To serve beverages to guests, according to the established standards and service sequence for the outlet.

- Clears and resets bar counter or bar tables at conclusion of each patron visit

- Fully conversant with all aspects of the Micros Computer system

- To ensure that all sales are properly recorded, following prescribed procedures for ordering, voiding or correcting items.

- Performs the function of cashier, computes bill and accepts payment

- To clear tables and removes dirty glasses to the dish area.

- To complete opening and closing duties as assigned.

- To be flexible wherever possible in meeting special requests from guests for specific beverage (and food) preparation methods and ingredients.

- To maintain the assigned station/bar in a clean and orderly manner at all times.

- Maintains par stocks of all beverage equipment and guest supplies

- To ensure that all company minimum brand standards are implemented, and that optional brand standards are implemented where appropriate. Reports any deviations to supervisor or Department Head.

- To make sure that all Touches of Hyatt and the Food & Beverage Top 20 are embraced.

- To work in a supportive and flexible manner with other employees and other departments, in a spirit of “We work through Teams”

- To treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage.

Other Duties

- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.

- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.

General

- Attends and contributes to all Meetings as required

- Provide a courteous and professional service at all times

- Willingly attends hotel training sessions as scheduled to improve skills and knowledge

Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations, understanding and strictly adhering to rules and regulations established in the Employee handbook and the hotels policies concerning fire, hygiene and health and safety

Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

Exercise responsible management and behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team and Hyatt.

Respond to requests to undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties and to changes as dictated by the hotel, industry and company.
